Assistant Account Manager/Service Estimator

Position Summary:The Assistant Account Manager/Service Estimator plays a dual role in supporting account management efforts and preparing estimates for turnkey equipment replacements, repairs, and technical analysis for HVAC projects. This position is designed to help develop skills under current account managers with the intent of taking over accounts as promotions occur. The ideal candidate will combine sales aptitude with technical knowledge to deliver accurate estimates, exceptional service, and strong customer relationships.
Principal Responsibilities:Account Management and Sales:· Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities.
· Support account managers by preparing documentation, tracking leads, and managing client interactions.
· Conduct cold calls to potential clients to generate new business opportunities.
· Manage RFQ job bid boards, ensuring all bids are submitted accurately and on time.
· Sell, renew, and expand service agreements for new and existing customers.
· Conduct facility walkthroughs and plan reviews to gather and validate information.
· Build and maintain strong customer relationships, providing consultative and strategic solutions.
· Learn, work under, and assist current account managers, with the intent of taking over accounts as opportunities arise.
· Represent the company professionally at customer meetings and networking events.
· Review and estimate service quotes generated from field service technician leads.
· Manage RFQ job bid boards, ensuring all bids are submitted accurately and on time.
· Prepare estimates for turnkey equipment replacements, repairs, and technical analysis, including labor, materials, and equipment costs.
· Review specifications, narratives, and addendums to understand project requirements.
· Update and manage job-based spreadsheets with accurate and detailed information.
· Make site visits to meet customers, assess their needs, and gather information for accurate estimating.
· Obtain quotations from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to support estimates.
· Participate in pre-bid meetings, bid strategy sessions, and post-construction reviews.
· Research and identify service opportunities for the service department to enhance customer satisfaction and generate new business.
