Self Directed Adult (Medicaid Waiver Program) seeking two staff members at least 25-30 hours per week; full time hours available after probationary period. Supervision provided for RBT or BCBA certification experience hours.
Role Description
This is an on-site role as a Direct Support Professional located in Bethesda, MD. The role involves providing support and assistance to individuals with disabilities in their daily activities and fostering their independence and inclusion within the community.
Qualifications

- Understanding of the needs of individuals with disabilities
- Experience in a similar role is a plus
- driver's license (client will need to be taken into the community as part of your day)
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen as required for state medical certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post high school certification preferred.
- experience in applied behavior analysis preferred (supervision hours for bcba candidates or RBT can be provided)
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist individual with daily activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
- Provide emotional support and companionship to individual
- Ensure the safety and well-being of client
- Document and report any changes in behavior or health status
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans
- Advocate for resident rights and ensure their dignity is maintained
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment
Experience Needed
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or educational settings required
- Knowledge of vital signs and medication administration is a plus, you will be required to obtain a certified med tech license if you do not already have one.
- Familiarity with working in school settings with vocational programming for young adults with disabilities, nursing homes or similar healthcare settings is beneficial
-availability after school, evening and rotating weekends required
