Our newly opened long-term BRS (Behavioral Rehabilitation Services) group home is seeking Direct Care Providers to add to our dedicated team!
Bumblebee house serves two adolescents in Extended Foster Care (ages 18-21) with behavioral and relational needs that thrive in a smaller setting. AKI is committed to supporting those in our care by providing mentorship, personal attention, emotional support, opportunities to practice Independent Living Skills, structured daily routines and living experiences in a home-like residential facility while they await other permanent placement options or independent living.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Consider client safety as a primary concern regarding all aspects of programming
- Adhere to supervision requirements and monitor youth in our care at all times
- Maintain healthy and appropriate relationships with clients, develop trust while maintaining professional boundaries, and treat clients with dignity and respect
- Maintain resident logs in designated databases, confidential files and case notes
- Attend and participate in professional group meetings and trainings
- Multitask, coordinate day-to-day activities, house functions, facilitate daily structured activities, monitoring and supervising clients, provide emotional support, mentoring, and behavioral interventions. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all professionals contacted in the course of work including social workers, case workers, staff, the public and residents
- Coordinating and transporting adolescents to enrichment activities daily; sharing interests in hobbies and activities with the individuals in our program
- Transport adolescents to appointments as needed
- Completes daily cleaning tasks per shift

- Direct program participants and residents according to program guidelines
- Resolve conflicts using effective conflict resolution techniques
- Work in a team environment that encourages individual initiative
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Work a flexible schedule that will include evenings and weekends
- Communicate and work with individuals and households with multiple, severe and chronic disabilities, mental illness, and diverse social and economic backgrounds;
- Operate office equipment including computers and supporting peripherals, as well as internet, research, database, word processing and spreadsheet applications
- Aptitude and interest necessary to further develop knowledge and abilities

Pay: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour
