The Charlevoix facility has a Laser Operator opening on 1st shift (6:48pm-3:00pm).
FUNCTION:
Operate manufacturing laser machines.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accept responsibility for your Safety and the Safety of others by using Safety awareness to eliminate unsafe acts and correct unsafe conditions.
- Participate in Lean events and initiatives to support a culture of continuous improvement.
- Review previous shift’s production with operator being relieved.
- Read operator instructions; review quality standards and specifications.
- Contact Technician or Supervisor if parts do not meet quality standards as defined.
- Set up and operate Pattern Machine.
- Set up and operate Laser cutting equipment.
- Set up and operate Metalizing and Coating equipment.
- Remove part from machine or conveyor; inspect part, trim or mill to customer specifications, and pack part to packaging instructions.
- Load steel/plastic sheet onto the Laser using the proper equipment.
- Unload finished parts and stack according to size, shape and/or material.
- Keep an accurate count of parts and record the data.
- Record scrap or non-conforming product and report discrepancies to supervisor.
- Ability to use a forklift, hoist, and crane and know the correct procedure to operate each.
- Responsible for any other special projects as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High School Graduate
- One year related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent written and verbal skills

- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift

Experience:
- AutoCAD: 1 year (Preferred)
