About the Role

This position reports to the Director, Corporate Compliance and is primarily responsible for reviewing proposed arrangements with referral sources across the country to ensure compliance and mitigate risk. The role involves providing compliance guidance in consideration of federal fraud, waste, and abuse laws and other healthcare regulatory requirements. This position will serve as a liaison between internal business clients, legal, and compliance teams to ensure agreements with referral sources maintain low risk. The ability to assess compliance risk while analyzing facts and circumstances beyond the contractual agreement is highly desirable.

Key Details : Direct-hire role, $10,500 bonus, competitive salary up to $110,400, hybrid work schedule

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Understand the Anti-Kickback Statute and other compliance risks and apply these concepts effectively.
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of documentation and information regarding potential arrangements with referral sources to assess compliance risk, ensuring business rationale, partner selection criteria, and fair market value alignment.
  • Review drafted referral source agreements, including medical director agreements, personal services agreements, transactions, and leases, ensuring they adhere to legal and policy standards.
  • Prioritize arrangement reviews and projects based on business needs and evolving priorities.
  • Engage with business leaders to integrate compliance principles into business practices.
  • Collaborate with compliance colleagues, regulatory attorneys, business attorneys, and stakeholders to identify and resolve compliance matters.
  • Provide compliance guidance in accordance with federal healthcare industry laws and regulations.
  • Manage special projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry required.
  • JD, LLM, or MSL preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a healthcare legal or compliance professional.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare fraud, waste, and abuse laws and regulations, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, is preferred.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with business leaders.
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborative problem-solving with business leaders, compliance, and legal teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with Salesforce is a plus.
  • Ability to travel out-of-state at least once per year for conferences as required.
