Title: Project Manager
Location: Detroit, MI (Position is predominately remote, but will require occasional onsite meetings/special projects)
Note: This is a W2 contract position; C2C and 3rd party candidates will NOT be considered
Under minimal supervision of an Executive Leader, the Project Manager will perform and manage project work of a generally complex nature aimed at improving operating systems and functions, with increasing responsibility for project planning. They will budget and allocate analyst resources for projects within scope of responsibility. They will prepare reports and recommendations for management, and coordinate implementation whenever possible. They may act as a consultant on projects outside of specific assignments. They will be responsible for supervising tasks of support staff relative to assigned projects.
Position Responsibilities:
- Work independently to manage complex projects involving coordination of multiple participants and teams, aimed at improving operating systems and functions within
- Maintain a high level of responsibility for completion of projects within a department, hospital, or region with strategic implications
- Conduct reviews of Hospital/Medical Group areas on a project basis, acting as a project lead for individual or multi-analyst projects
- Prepare project plans, including scheduling, costs, personnel matters, and other operational concerns
- Develop and refine project scope and objectives, and develop and refine project work plans
- Recommend and provide input for budget preparation
- Guide day-to-day activities of the project team, including facilitating and/or leading meetings and teams
- Supply periodic project updates to hospital administration, prepare project management reports, and coordinate written and verbal presentations of project findings, conclusions, and recommendations
- Conceptualize ideas, develop work plans, and plan execution into project formats
- Develop and determine priorities and monitor the status of projects on an ongoing basis
- Exercise independent judgment and make difficult decisions while working with all levels of the hospital, region and system
- Conduct interviews with users and performs various data gathering techniques
- Foster teamwork with all involved parties to ensure efficient project operations
- Document current systems and operations
- Analyze client systems, procedures, and operations, and identify opportunities for improvement
- Identify and test alternative methods and procedures, and identify associated costs and benefits
- Define requirements to modify existing procedures or develop new systems
- Assist in the implementation of revised or new methods
- Guide support staff in performing operations analysis and decision support activities
- Establish work schedules and priorities to ensure that work flow is controlled
- Identify internal staff development needs and opportunities for improvement or enhancement of staff skills
Position Qualifications:
- A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in Operations Analysis, Management Engineering, Operations Management, or other related analytical field within healthcare or management consulting, directed toward process improvement; previous supervisory and/or consulting experience preferred
- Project Management experience in the areas of infrastructure, applications, EPIC EMR Systems, data/cybersecurity, or process governance preferred
- A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, or other relevant technical/ management field; Master's Degree and/or PMP Certification highly preferred
