Job Summary:
The Radiologic Technologist operates diagnostic imaging equipment and performs diagnostic imaging procedures following department policies and procedures. The technologist adheres to the "Standards of Ethics" of the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and the "Clinical Practice Standards" established by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT). This role involves working closely with physicians to perform a variety of specialized procedures, ensuring proper equipment setup and patient positioning for optimal imaging. The technologist is responsible for obtaining appropriate patient information, maintaining sterile technique, providing radiation protection, and recognizing emergent situations that require immediate assistance. Additionally, this role may assist other areas and shifts as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operates and adjusts imaging equipment to perform diagnostic procedures.
- Works collaboratively with physicians to execute specialized imaging techniques.
- Positions patients accurately to obtain clear diagnostic images while considering patient comfort.
- Collects relevant patient information for procedures.
- Practices and maintains sterile technique to prevent cross-contamination.
- Ensures radiation protection for patients, self, and others by utilizing PPE and adhering to safety protocols.
- Identifies and responds to emergent situations promptly.
- Assists with other duties and shifts as necessary.
Education & Certification Requirements:
- Completion of formal radiologic technology training.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (Specialty certification encouraged).
- Licensed with the Indiana State Board of Health.
- CPR Certification required.
Schedule:
- 40 hours per week, primarily Monday-Friday, day shift, with on-call requirements
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Interventional procedures preferred.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to take call and live within 30 minutes of the facility to respond promptly.
- Strong knowledge of anatomical imaging structures.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. independently and 100 lbs. with assistance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in general computer skills and applications.
- Ability to multi-task and work independently using critical thinking skills.
