Job Title: Addiction Recovery Technician
Overview: As an Addiction Recovery Technician, you will play a pivotal role in supporting individuals through their journey towards sobriety and recovery from addiction. You'll work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to provide care, guidance, and emotional support to clients within a rehabilitation or recovery center setting.
Responsibilities:
- Client Support: Offer compassionate and empathetic support to individuals undergoing addiction recovery, maintaining a non-judgmental attitude, and fostering a safe environment for healing.
- Assessment: Conduct initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of clients' progress, collaborating with counselors and healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Supervision: Monitor and supervise clients to ensure adherence to treatment plans, providing assistance and guidance when needed.
- Crisis Intervention: Respond to crisis situations calmly and effectively, following established protocols to manage challenging behaviors or emergency scenarios.
- Medication Distribution: Accurately record medications given to clients.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of client interactions, progress reports, and any incidents following facility protocols and legal requirements.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with counselors, therapists, medical staff, and other team members to provide comprehensive care and support for clients.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in addiction studies, psychology, social work, or related fields is a plus.
- Prior experience in a similar role within an addiction treatment or rehabilitation center is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect empathetically and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Understanding of addiction recovery principles, mental health, and behavioral health practices.
- Ability to handle stressful and emotionally charged situations with professionalism and composure.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
