Overview
To cultivate positive, meaningful relationships with youth, ages 12-18, that support them in identifying and achieving their goals. Connect youth to resources to build community and skills to enhance their opportunities for success along their journey to adulthood. Work to initiate and deepen existing collaborations with community partners, schools, and agency departments.
Responsibilities
- Assess individual needs and create personalized training plans to enhance life skills.
- Teach clients essential Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household management.
- Utilize behavior management techniques to support clients in overcoming challenges and achieving positive outcomes.
- Facilitate social interactions and community engagement to promote social skills development.
- Provide guidance in areas such as caregiving, childcare, and home community care as needed.
- Document progress and maintain accurate records of client achievements and challenges.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for each client.
- Drive clients to appointments or community activities when necessary.
Education:
Bachelors in related field with a minimum of 2 years experience working with at risk youth
Associates degree with 4 years experience working with at at risk youth
Skills
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
- Knowledge of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and the ability to teach these skills effectively.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language is a plus for communicating with clients who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Experience in behavior management strategies to support individuals with diverse needs.
- Background in special education or related fields is preferred.
- Familiarity with home community care practices to assist clients in their daily lives.
- Experience in caregiving or childcare settings is beneficial for understanding client needs.
- Understanding of behavioral health principles to support mental well-being.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.25 per hour
