What are the responsibilities and job description for the Life Skills and RISE Program Manager position at New Day?
POSITION PURPOSE
Consistently develop and refine the Life Skills Academy (LSA), care coordination and resource navigation to provide continuing education and support to youth within New Day and the broader Albuquerque Community. Cultivate partnerships with other communities and life skill providers to increase capacity to better support young people. Be a leader within the agency and the community in highlighting the need and impact and importance of life skills development, care coordination and resource navigation for young people.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following list of duties or tasks is not intended to be complete but to represent some of the tasks required under each of the major responsibilities.
Work directly with Community Connections Director to support and develop Life Skills Academy, Rise care coordination and resource navigation staff and promote and expand LSA programming within New Day and the broader community.
Act as a liaison for the Life Skills Academy in the community with other programs that serve young people, probation officers, social workers, mental health professionals, businesses, health care providers, etc.
Collaborate with community instructors and organizations to create dynamic class offerings.
Cultivate new relationships with potential instructors.
Ensure there are diverse class and course offerings each month that include topics from all the life skills focus areas and specifically building strong cultural identity.
Actively recruit youth to increase engagement and participation in the Life Skills Academy.
Develop employment opportunities for youth by building relationships with local employers.
Provide training and support to youth and instructors.
Administer, collect, and enter all data in an accurate and timely manner, including surveys and attendance information.
Coordinate marketing materials and engage in community activities to promote the Life Skills Academy, Rise care coordination and resource navigation.
Update and maintain the LSA website, including monthly calendar and class descriptions.
Embody and model for staff, youth and community partners practicing the integration of trauma responsive practice, adolescent development and the Nurtured Heart Approach.
Support life skills classes, courses and development across the entire agency, within each department.
Is responsible for on-call duties related to the Drop-in Center. Will answer work phone during work and off hours to respond to employee and facility needs. Understanding protocols for emergencies.
Responsible for hiring and training all new staff, providing ongoing training opportunities for all staff
Address discipline issues as they arise and actively participate in all decisions about performance improvement plans, terminations, etc.
Supervision and Program Development
Attend required trainings and data implementation meetings with Bernalillo County and other funders (as needed) to ensure contract requirements are being fulfilled.
Ensure all data that is required for ACES and RISE programs and New Day is collected in a timely manner and documented in the appropriate databases, spreadsheets, and reporting documents.
Support integration with Life Skills coaches, Rise coordinators, resource navigation and Drop-in Center staff, and other ND programs.
Provide supervision and support to all Life Skills Coaches related to implementing the ACES model and other key foundational components of Life Skills Coaching and care coordination for RISE coordinators and resource navigation.
Fulfill all key components of general LSA programming to include development of the community instructor community, creating diverse class offerings, recruitment of youth, data collection and reporting, marketing and outreach, and incorporation of LSA programming across programs within the organization.
Work with Director to implement and develop policies and procedures and other program support documentation for ACES and RISE programs.
Complete all grant reports and ensure accurate and timely submission.
Work with Director to track data and develop reports for funders and New Day executive leadership team.
Participate in New Days Leadership team and represent New Day as a leader in the community and within the agency.
