What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Office Manager position at A&P Payroll Management?
Sapphire Center for Rehabilitation located in Queens, New York is looking for a Business Office Manager to join their business office. This position is responsible for assisting residents applying for Medicaid coverage and assisting the back office in collecting and processing private and NAMI balances. In addition, this employee will perform general office activities for the facility as assigned by the Office Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Verify patients’ eligibility for Medicaid.
- Process Medicaid applications, meet with families and collect required paperwork.
- Review Medicaid Pending cases with Department of Social Services and/or Medicaid caseworker. Advise facility administrator and corporate Office on problem cases.
- Follow-up on requests by the Dept. of Social Services for recertification and approval.
- Contact Medicaid with recertification problems and budget determinations.
- Prepare and submit new Medicaid applications.
- Responsible for submission and follow up of Long Term Care insurance forms on behalf of facility residents.
- Maintain necessary billing and financial information on resident files.
- Maintain resident trust accounts and reconcile balances monthly.
- Perform and coordinate all collection efforts with the nursing home Administrator and corporate collection personal.
- Maintain accurate records of payor sources, addresses, telephone numbers, etc.; explain bills to residents as necessary and maintain appropriate back-up records.
· Deposit checks electronically & process credit card payments.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information.
- Host weekly financial meetings
- Maintain effective communication with residents, families, facility staff and business office staff members.
- General office duties as assigned.
