Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) with Project Management experience to lead a multi-year project that will sustain and develop training courses and applications for a defense customer. This dual-role position combines expertise in instructional design with project management acumen to oversee the development and delivery of comprehensive solutions.
Duties:
The Sr. ISD and Project Manager will:
- Instructional Design Leadership:
- Lead the analysis, design, development, and evaluation of instructional materials and educational programs.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to create engaging, effective, and compliant training content.
- Ensure all instructional materials meet the defense customer’s standards, which include specifications for SCORM compliance and Section 508 accessibility.
- Project Management:
- Oversee project lifecycle from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with contract goals and timelines.
- Coordinate between cross-functional teams and liaise with the customer to ensure seamless communication and delivery.
- Manage project resources, budgets, and schedules.
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor a diverse team of instructional designers, courseware developers, application programmers, SMEs, and technical staff.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 8 years in instructional design with proven experience leading training development projects, preferably ones within a military context.
- Must demonstrate 3 or more years of experience as a project manager leading a team of at least 5 subordinate team members.
- Expertise in instructional design methodologies and adult learning theory supporting web-based, classroom, and hybrid delivery modalities.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within defined constraints.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP, CAPM, or similar project management certification.
- Experience with immersive technologies (AR/VR) in training environments.
