Position Overview:
As the Vice President of Operations, you will oversee the daily operations of the company, ensuring that all departments—from warehouse and logistics to customer service and event execution—run smoothly and efficiently. You will be responsible for driving operational excellence, implementing best practices, and scaling the business for continued growth. This role requires a strategic leader with strong problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of logistics and inventory management, and the ability to inspire and manage a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:Operational Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute operational strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall service quality.
- Oversee the logistics, warehouse, delivery, and setup teams to ensure seamless event execution.
- Implement systems and processes to optimize inventory management, equipment maintenance, and on-time deliveries.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and streamline operations.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team, fostering a positive and results-driven culture.
- Set clear performance goals and accountability measures for department managers and staff.
- Work closely with HR to recruit, train, and retain top talent.
Customer Service & Quality Control
- Ensure all rental equipment is well-maintained, clean, and meets quality standards.
- Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to ensure client expectations are met or exceeded.
- Resolve escalated customer service issues and implement solutions to prevent future concerns.
Financial & Budget Management
- Manage operational budgets, ensuring cost control while maintaining high service standards.
- Identify opportunities to increase profitability through process improvements, vendor negotiations, and strategic resource allocation.
- Analyze financial and operational reports to make data-driven decisions.
Technology & Process Improvement
- Implement and manage technology solutions to enhance scheduling, inventory tracking, and order fulfillment.
- Continuously seek innovative ways to improve efficiency and scalability.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 10 years of leadership experience in operations management, preferably in event rentals, logistics, or a related industry.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse, inventory, and fleet management best practices.
- Proven ability to streamline processes, manage large teams, and improve operational efficiency.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple moving parts.
- Proficiency in rental software, inventory systems, and logistics platforms is a plus.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate teams and build strong relationships across departments.
