Primary Functions:
- Greets patients and obtains demographic, financial, and insurances information; enters or updates data in EHR
- Calculates and collects client time-of-service payments in accordance with departmental cash collection and control procedures.
- Informs client of any visit delays.
- Answers any questions received at the front desk.
- Attends Front Desk team meetings.
- Manages patient appointments and schedule follow-up visits.
- Distributes client documents and scans documents in EHR.
- Pre-certifies client insurance for eligibility.
- Acts as liaison between the client, clinician, and billing office regarding billing and collection issues.
- Acts as liaison between the client and clinician regarding questions.
- Answers telephone and routes call to the appropriate individual.
- Corresponds with insurance companies regarding client accounts.
- Works independently and/or with a team on assigned administrative projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must meet standards of Level I and Level II criminal background screening in accordance with FL Statutes (F.S.) 435.04 and (F.S.) 408.809
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of experience related to the duties of the position.
(Note: or a combination of post-high school education and experience equal to two years.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or higher
- Experince in a medical office setting
Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively interact with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Ability to use basic computer applications including but not limited to Electronic Health Record programs, Word, Excel, and G-Suites
- Ability to work in a fast paced work environment
