We only deliver WOW quality and WOW service. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Estimator and Project Manager to join our growing team.
Position Overview
The Assistant Estimator & Project Manager will work directly with the owner of the company doing estimates, project management and follow up. We see this role in a “training phase” for at least 5-6 months or longer and the goal to become the first full time estimator/project manager for the company. This role is critical to ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and service.
The time for this position is approx but would be spent,
- 16 hours per week on the road with the owner doing estimates in person in our customers home
- 8-10 per week spent in front of computer working up the estimates to send out to customers
- 8-10 hours per week spent going to job sites and following up with customers to let them know the progress of the project and goals and milestones throughout the project
- 4-6 hours per week planning, following up with customers for estimates unapproved and making phone calls.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating Duties:
- Assist in reviewing in person the overall scope of the project in which the customer is looking to get done, taking into account “behind the wall” or “add on’s” and “upgrades”
- Work on pricing of the estimate with materials and labor hours needed to complete the project
- Analyze labor, material, and time requirements to develop comprehensive estimates
- Prepare the estimates and then send out through our construction management software to clients
- Follow up on the estimates with questions that the customer may have about the project
Project Management Duties:
- Once an estimate has been approved, working on the plan to complete this work
- Create project timeline, material purchase lists for deliveries and pickups, permits if needed, inspections, etc
- Monitor project progress, address challenges, and implement solutions as needed.
- Conduct site visits to ensure compliance with the overall project, being the one phone call or in person communication between our teams of contractors and the customer
- Maintain detailed project records, including schedules, budgets, and change orders.
- Support the Project Manager in handling client communications and managing expectations.
Qualifications
- Restaurant experience or retail experience - THIS IS A MUST
- Management experience in restaurants, retail, hospitality
- Tech savvy, ability to work with different softwares
- Ability to understand construction processes, materials, and code
- Sponge - always wanting to understand something or learn more, never stopping learning and developing
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift at least 75lbs and move things around as part of this position
- Valid driver’s license
- Male or Female or non binary - Owner has two daughters and believes a female can do anything a man can do
Preferred Skills
- Problem Solving - Assertiveness with ability to solve problems and handle customers
- Pickup things quickly, construction process of building and codes through training
- Communication - must be very easy to communicate with via phone calls
