Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee and manage construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the project are executed efficiently, safely, and within the established timeline. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of construction processes.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations on the construction site to ensure compliance with safety regulations and project specifications.
- Manage subcontractors and coordinate with various trades to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Attend and participate in scheduled project meetings
- Prepare progress report for scheduled project meetings
- Make sure One-Calls are made
- Read and interpret blueprints to ensure work is completed according to design specifications.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality control and adherence to project schedules.
- Assure quality control and compliance
- Manage materials and equipment
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to communicate updates and address any issues that arise during construction.
Experience
- Must have 5 or more years of supervisory experience in Commercial and Residential Construction with ability to drive, control, and operate bulldozers, forklifts, excavators, and skid steers.
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within the construction industry is essential.
- Proficiency in construction estimating techniques and budgeting practices is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational, administrative communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws on safety and environment and their application to construction.
- Experience with reading plans, specifications and construction schedules.
- Experienced planner addressing safety, quality and productivity.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality and safety is a plus.
- Ability to effectively lead a team, fostering a collaborative environment while ensuring project goals are met.
Skills & Education
- Knowledge of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sites
- In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes
- Familiarity with CAD software
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to lead and inspire
- High school diploma or GED
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar field is preferred but not required; Master’s degree a plus
- Ability to navigate project sites, which may include walking, climbing, and/or bending
- Ability to work in extreme hot and cold weather conditions
- 75-100% of time will be working outside walking the jobsite and getting on equipment
- Willingness to travel as needed by project
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
Schedule:
