Core Responsibilities
Organizational Learning Strategy
- Build and lead a strategic learning roadmap grounded in equity, cultural responsiveness, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to embed learning into organizational culture and decision-making.
- Monitor sector trends to inform learning strategy and respond to emerging needs.
Training & Staff Development
- Design engaging learning experiences using blended modalities (in-person, virtual, on-the-job, self-paced).
- Facilitate interactive, practical trainings for staff at all levels, including executive coaching, management training, and frontline development.
- Evaluate training effectiveness using feedback loops and performance data to ensure knowledge retention and behavior change.
Onboarding & Talent Development
- Reimagine the onboarding journey to foster belonging, confidence, and clarity from day one.
- Develop clear, competency-based learning pathways that support career progression across roles.
- Introduce mentorship, coaching, and peer learning programs to support ongoing development and leadership readiness.
Curriculum Design & Innovation
- Lead development of culturally responsive, youth-centered curriculum aligned with expanded learning best practices.
- Utilize technology and design thinking to deliver scalable, accessible, and engaging learning content.
- Partner with program leaders and community partners to co-create and pilot new tools and resources.
Evaluation, Quality & Impact
- Develop systems for tracking learning KPIs, training participation, and program impact.
- Produce reports and dashboards to inform leadership decisions and funder communications.
- Champion a culture of feedback, reflection, and data-driven improvement.
Collaboration & Capacity Building
- Partner with HR, DEI, and Program teams to align L&D efforts with broader organizational priorities.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to promote team cohesion, staff well-being, and psychological safety.
- Build relationships with external experts, consultants, and peer organizations to expand internal capacity.
Qualifications / Requirements
- 5 years in a learning & development, curriculum design, or training leadership role.
- Deep experience in the nonprofit, education, youth development, or social justice sectors.
- Strong knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design, and performance evaluation.
- Proven track record of building inclusive, impactful learning experiences.
- Comfortable using digital platforms (LMS, video, design tools, etc.) for training development and delivery.
- Adept at managing complex projects and building collaborative partnerships across departments.
