Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in a personal care home setting. The ideal candidate will assist residents with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being. This role requires a strong understanding of resident rights and the ability to manage behaviors associated with various conditions, including dementia.
Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
- Provide support in behavior management for residents with special needs or dementia care.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of residents by lifting and transferring them as necessary, following proper techniques.
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment for residents.
- Drive residents to appointments or activities as needed, ensuring their safety during transport.
- Uphold resident rights by respecting their privacy and promoting independence.
- Administer first aid when required and monitor residents' health conditions, reporting any changes to the supervising staff.
- Collaborate with other team members to create a supportive and nurturing environment for all residents.
Requirements
- Previous experience in personal care or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices and behavior management strategies is highly desirable.
- Ability to assist with lifting and transferring individuals safely.
- Familiarity with ADLs and the specific needs of working with people with disabilities is essential.
- Certification in First Aid or willingness to obtain certification is required.
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate demeanor are crucial for success in this role.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Pay: $194.00 - $195.00 per day
