Responsibilities:
This team member will drive one of our commercial septic trucks all over San Diego County to residential properties, locate septic tanks, dig up the lids, pump out the contents of the tank, measure the volume of the tank, inspect the tank for proper functionality and components that need repair. If the system is not draining properly, you will need to figure out why by troubleshooting & using additional tools to restore proper drainage. Sometimes you will need to educate customers on their system and proper use. You will maintain telephone contact with the office periodically to receive additional instructions, receive changes to service orders, and report on job progress. You will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of your truck and doing pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Warning: This job requires “Grit”. If you don’t like to sweat, dig, and get a little dirty, this is not the job for you.
Qualifications:
- clean DMV record
- friendly demeanor for quality interactions with customers
- ability to move metal manhole covers & concrete septic tank lids weighing up to 90 lbs.
- safety mindedness
- exercise smart decision making
- basic math skills, read & write in English
- high school graduate or equivalent
- be able to pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
- must come highly recommended, we will check references
