Role Summary :
The Chief Deputy City Clerk functions in an independent manner, including acting as City Clerk in their absence. Primary responsibilities include the management and coordination of all election equipment preparation and testing, including the management of the City’s Election Headquarters facility. Responsibility for the recruitment and training of 200 to 800 election inspectors for each City election. Manages the election inspector training program, including the creation and maintenance of all election inspector training materials; manages the City Clerk’s Office front counter activities, early voting centers, deputy clerks, as well as temporary election office staff. Assists the City Clerk with election management duties and general operations in the City Clerk’s Office.
Education, Training and Experience Required :
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration, political science, or a related
- Experience in municipal election administration : at least four years, inclusive of administration of a national election.
- The City of Ann Arbor will consider an alternative combination of education and experience
