Level 2 (intermediate) Bench and On-site Computer Support Technician Wanted (Abington PA)
We are looking for a candidate that has prior experience doing level 2 (intermediate) information technology and help-desk type work. Please see the requirements and required skills for an understanding of the kinds of things you would be doing on a daily basis.
The ideal candidate is truly passionate about computers/technology/networking etc. A degree is not required, but some coursework or formal education in the field is certainly a plus.
Background checks are required.
Travel: This position would require you to be in office daily, and then subsequently travel throughout the greater Philadelphia suburban area to both residential and commercial clients; clients are mainly centered around our Abington PA offices.
Compensation: to be based on experience.
Requirements - You must already have:
- Dependable transportation and a valid drivers license. And ability to lift 40lbs or more.
- Ability to load and configure Mac and Windows operating systems, drivers, updates, anti-virus, backup software etc.
- An understanding of the differences in corporate/commercial IT environments and residential IT environments, and what type of technology is appropriate to each.
- An understanding of how to perform virus removals, disk cloning, formatting, partitioning etc.
- The ideal candidate has assembled more than 4-6 computers for self/friends/family/work and has high level knowledge of drive installation, motherboards, power supplies, etc.
- Ability to troubleshoot and self-solve common windows update issues, registry issues, boot issues.
- Ability to setup and install routers and wireless devices, knowledge of DHCP, scopes, DNS, IP addressing, and port forwarding, an understanding of LAN and WAN concepts, network cabling, basic vlan experience.
- Understanding and experience with Active Directory and Microsoft Server 2012-2022 operating systems.
Required Skills
- Ability to interact with both residential and corporate customers in a positive manner even when in stressful situations. You would need to be a "people person" for this position. Customer service experience is a plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, you will need to be able to self solve without a great deal of support from co-workers.
- Exceptional organizing and time-management skills
- Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA A ) will be an advantage

Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 or more per hour - negotiable based on experience.
