Controls Engineer – Automation & Industrial Systems
Job Overview
An exciting opportunity exists for a Controls Engineer to design, implement, and commission automation solutions for industrial systems. This role requires expertise in PLC, HMI, SCADA, and DCS platforms, with a strong focus on system architecture, programming, and process control solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Automation System Development
- Design, develop, and implement control systems for industrial processes and machinery.
- Create system architectures, select appropriate hardware, and develop detailed schematic diagrams.
- Program and configure PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA systems to meet operational requirements.
Programming & Integration
- Develop controller logic using Ladder Logic, Sequential Function Charts, and Structured Text.
- Implement and optimize HMI/SCADA systems, ensuring intuitive process visualization.
- Utilize programming languages such as VBA, .NET, SQL, and Python to enhance system functionality.
- Develop and manage historical data storage and retrieval for process monitoring and analytics.
Project Execution & Leadership
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project requirements and deadlines are met.
- Lead and mentor engineers, ensuring quality and efficiency in project execution.
- Work directly with clients to define project scope, specifications, and deliverables.
- Oversee system installation, commissioning, and testing to ensure operational success.
Continuous Improvement & Problem-Solving
- Identify opportunities for optimization in existing automation systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges during design, implementation, and commissioning.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in automation and control engineering.
