About the Project Engineer Position
The Project Engineer works in conjunction with the Estimator/Project Manager, Superintendents, office, subcontractors, and the Construction Manager to assist and oversee the daily management of the planning and processes of a project. The Project Engineer will ensure that the project requirements are met and completed on time and within budget. The duties include upholding project standards by researching compliance regulations, developing project implementation plans and adjusting specification for elements of the project.
Project Engineer Essential Responsibilities:
- Preconstruction and Bidding: Review plans and specifications to determine entire scope of the project for bidding with entering new RFPs into the construction platform and maintain and provide detailed weekly progress reports on all RFPs from the system for the Construction Manager’s review.
- Plan Review/Document Control: Review plans, specifications, and subcontractor scopes as written by the Estimator/Project Manager to determine entire scope of the project and its scheduling requirements for subcontractors, materials, and labor to acquire a thorough working knowledge of the project documents.
- Procurement: Assist E/PM and Construction Manager in reviewing lead times for materials based on approved submittals as well as submittals in process, throughout all projects. Assist in creating project material lists with tracking and maintaining records of deliveries and material pick-up. Obtain and maintain material spec sheets for submittals and close-outs that include material pricing and required subcontractors.
- Communication: Assist the E/PM and Construction Manager in consulting with clients, design professionals, subcontractors, and vendors regarding issues, clarifications, and RFIs.
