Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide essential care and support to individuals with varying needs, including those with autism and memory care requirements. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting them with daily activities, promoting independence, and fostering a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in social activities to promote emotional well-being.
- Support individuals with memory care needs through structured routines and cognitive exercises.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Document client progress and report any changes in behavior or health to the appropriate personnel.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care plans are followed.
- Maintain a safe and clean living environment for clients, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Foster positive relationships with clients, encouraging their participation in community activities and personal interests.
Requirements
- Previous experience in caregiving, home health, or home care is preferred.
- Knowledge of memory care techniques and experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with caregiving duties, including lifting and transferring clients when necessary.
- A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid, and TB is required at the time of application.
