GIS/GPS Technician

About AAA Landscape

AAA Landscape is a leader in commercial landscaping, integrating technology and sustainability into our operations. We are expanding our GIS capabilities and need a GIS/GPS Technician to support asset mapping, focusing on trees, irrigation systems, and other landscape features.

Position Overview

This role is a mix of fieldwork (70%) and office tasks (30%), involving GPS data collection and GIS data processing. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working outdoors, and experienced in GIS applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect GPS data on landscape assets using ArcGIS Field Apps, Trimble Mobile Manager, and Trimble Catalyst DA2.
• Digitize property boundaries, service areas, and landscape features using ArcGIS Pro.
• Develop and distribute maps for internal use.
• Maintain organized records and ensure data accuracy.
• Assist with other GIS-related tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Landscape Architecture, or related field.
• A 2-year GIS certificate may substitute for a 4-year degree.
• 1-3 years of experience in GPS data collection and GIS applications.
• Certifications such as GISP, ESRI Technical Certifications, or ACLP are a plus.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in ArcGIS Field Apps, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online.
• Experience with Trimble Mobile Manager & Trimble Catalyst DA2.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite & Windows OS.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors year-round (including hot summer conditions).
• Capable of walking long distances and carrying equipment.
• Able to lift up to 20 lbs.
