Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist

The accounts payable/payroll accounting specialist performs accounting and tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of payroll and accounts payable transactions. Applicants must have accounts payable experience and knowledge. Payroll experience is a plus. Minimum starting rate is $23/hour depending on experience.

Essential Functions and Duties

• Review payables invoices, resolve invoice discrepancies, and enter into software for payment
• Sort and match invoices and check requests
• Prepare and process accounts payable checks and credit card transactions.
• Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
• Reconcile statements
• Assist forwarders or Allied with questions regarding payables
• Assist Accounting Supervisor with other duties as assigned.

Process weekly payroll for up to 170 employees

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of payroll principles and technicalities
• General knowledge of basic accounting principles
• Basic knowledge of accounting software
• Interpersonal communication
• Organizational skills
• Ability to multitask
• Proficiency in Excel
• Attention to detail

Working Conditions:

• Anchorage area / Indoors
• Office Environment
• Sitting for long periods of time
• Frequent use of telephone
