Traffic Safety Advocacy and Research Manager (Hybrid)

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Counsel Traffic Safety and Government relations staff in appropriate association responses and positions on traffic safety issues using data analysis and judgment of scientific and political environments.
• Build and maintain relationships with national stakeholders, industry groups, and federal agencies. Act as AAA’s traffic safety expert in media appearances (training provided) and at conferences and events.
• Oversee and expand AAA’s traffic safety programs, including curriculum, materials, training, and marketing as well as manage budgets, sales reports, and inventory.
• Lead original research and data analysis to support advocacy positions and safety initiatives.
• Coordinate with the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, including involvement in R&D project funding decisions.

Education & Experience:

• Master’s degree in public health, public policy, engineering, social sciences, transportation safety, or other relevant scientific field.
• Four (4) years experience in a relevant field, with two (2) years specifically working in the public health or transportation safety sector.
• Proficient in standard PC Microsoft applications; advanced Excel skills required.

Hiring Range: $ 100,000 - $116,500

This position is eligible for participation in the AAA, Inc. Annual Incentive Plan.
