CPIM Manager (Continuous Process Improvement Manager)

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Utilizing process optimization, quality improvement, business architecture, and business analysis frameworks and methodologies identifies, designs, communicates, advocates, and integrates efficient and financially sound operational process models and sales/service automation for one or more business lines to support agile business operations and positive member experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the identification and delivery of process innovation and continuous improvement initiatives across the assigned line of business through employing process improvement methodologies and the application of innovative thinking.
  • Conducts process assessment, gap analysis, measurement, and optimization utilizing recognized tools and methods (e.g.: Lean, 6 Sigma, Value Stream Mapping) to improve business-line process efficiency and accuracy.
  • Establishes, articulates, and advocates for roadmaps and initiatives that lead to high-performing, efficient, and high-quality business models that are measured, automated, adaptable, and aligned to priorities and operating plans and evolving business needs. Translate organizational initiatives into actionable objectives.
  • Partners and collaborates with key stakeholders within the assigned line of business and enterprise-wide to defining priorities for business transformation to ensure alignment on project priorities, scope, and timelines to ensure a consistent and standard approach to business-line process transformation.
  • Establishes good working relationships across the organization through diplomacy, collaboration, and mentorship to meet or exceed strategic goals.
  • Lead and facilitate continuous improvement projects and events for the assigned line of business through cross-functional team facilitation and project management.
  • Continuously assesses business models and processes, identifies transformation opportunities for optimization, and provides leadership supporting the change management required to realize optimization benefits.
  • Develops insights and strategies to fully leverage business-line and enterprise-wide platforms to maximize appropriate automation and gain efficiencies and quality improvement through high-value technology.
  • Provides stakeholder and leadership briefings, summaries, and insights regarding process efficiency and process quality goals and outcomes and progress on projects.
  • Train, mentor, and guide impacted team members on new processes.
  • Contributes to a positive team dynamic through respectful interactions, positive contributions, and active collaboration to achieve department and organizational goals.
  • Incorporates AAA’s vision, mission and values in day-to-day activities and behaviors; guides and motivates others to remain committed to AAA’s vision mission and values.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • If supervising others, responsible for developing people, improving processes, reducing costs, monitoring quality, delivering results against established objectives and ensuring a high level of service to internal and external customers.
  • Manages assigned employees by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, developing, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning monitoring, appraising and reviewing employee job contributions; maintaining compensation, resolving problems and implementing change.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum four years’ experience in business transformation, business architecture, or continuous process improvement.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience training and leading teams.
  • Intermediate level skill with Microsoft Office 365 products, including Outlook, Excel, Work, PowerPoint and Teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MBA or similar preferred.
  • Experience with agile era methods for process improvement and optimization.
  • Experience with enterprise business technology platforms, such as CRM, customer experience, ERP, and supply chain platforms for business sales and service.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Certified in business transformation/continuous improvement methodology such as Lean 6 Sigma, Dynamic, or obtained within one year.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience performing assessments of business and developing informed process maps, models, and structures.
  • Working knowledge of structured problem-solving tools (DMAIC, Statistical Process Control, Kaizen, Process Mapping, 5S, Fishbone, etc.)
  • Experience identifying and capturing process performance metrics (i.e., defect rates) for both baseline and on-going process improvement tracking.
  • Experience leading discovery events, such as Kaizens, to build baseline insights for key processes and establish future state artifacts for continuous improvement and automation roadmaps.
  • Experience leading and guiding business teams to take full advantage of enterprise technology capabilities.
  • Highly effective facilitation and project management skill sets.
  • Experience successfully collaborating professionally and diplomatically with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership skills with the proven ability to manage change, develop others, and strategically plan for continuous improvement leveraging appropriate pillar processes.
  • Knowledge of business architecture frameworks that align business process to business and technology strategy.
  • Knowledge of emerging process optimization technology and platforms such as process mining, robotic process automation, artificial intelligence, intelligent document processing, etc.
  • Sound foundation in key methodologies and practices for process efficiency and quality improvement.
  • Ability to establish, nurture, and optimize key internal and external partnerships and influence organizational change.
  • Ability to embrace data-first approaches to problem discovery, problem remediation, and service optimization.
  • High-level of data analysis and interpretation skills with specific knowledge of quality measurement algorithms and formulas.

SALARY: The salary range for this role is $105,876 - $126,990 and is based on experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • The physical environment is typical of a standard office space. It requires the employee to work inside for the duration of work. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, sitting for more than 50% of the time. This position will require occasionally moving about inside the office to access equipment, cabinets, etc. May work around office equipment which could be noisy, such as copiers and fax machines.
