About the role
The TPM and Operations Training Leader is crucialfor building the capabilities of the manufacturing workforce in thisspecialized industry covering the process and unit operations, TPM andnecessary practices for personnel and process safety. The trainer must haveexpertise in edible oil processing and the application of TPM and relatedimprovement methodologies in a process industry environment as well aspackaging, and strong instructional design and delivery skills.
Responsibilities
Develop and deliver, via hands-on and / or classroom-based learning, comprehensive training programs to operations teams on all aspects of edible oil refining consistent with TPM and continuous improvement, including : - Chemical refining (degumming, neutralization, bleaching) - Hydrogenation of fats and oils - Interesterification - Deodorization - Packaging and storage.
- Develops ensures training and the tracking thereof, covering the safe and proper operation of all equipment and machinery used in oil refining, such including high pressure and highly hazardous hydrogenation reactors, interesterification processes, bleachers, deodorizers, filters, and other associated equipment including the plant utilities and high pressure boilers associated with the deodorizers;
Collaborates cross-functionally with EHS, production, quality, engineering, supply chain and human resources to identify training needs.
Gather and evaluate information from employees and management on previous training to identify weaknesses and areas that need additional and improved training and implement those additions and improvements.
New Hire and Onboarding - facilitate new member onboarding and training experience in various settings, such as one-on-one, small, or large groups.
Ensure new members have the fundamental knowledge and skills needed to be ready to work on the floor and reinforce critical procedures as needed (e.g., Safety, Food Safety, Making Better Happen, work environment, and the 4 pillars of AAK.)
Support new members in establishing relationships between their Supervisor, Team Leader, and leadership team members.
Establish and manage ongoing and refresh training for all roles.
Train staff on safety protocols, quality control procedures, food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, etc.), and regulatory compliance requirements
Develop proprietary, multimedia training materials like manuals, videos, job aids etc. tailored to the company's processes, equipment and best practices - all consistent with the company's drive to be a TPM based company. Create standard system procedures and work instructions for manufacturing processes. Also manage the review and updates - revisions to existing procedures and documentation as needed for changes and other revisions coming from other site best practices (as they are developed).
Seek feedback from members, Management, and teams regarding onboarding and training opportunities and work collaboratively to improve those processes (new member onboarding, recertifications, annual training, etc.).
Participate in regional and global work teams focused to best practice auditing and implementation at the LV site but also other sites as appropriate.
Partner with Human Resources to track participation and to inform employees of scheduled training and measure their progress.
Assess employees' skills and knowledge through evaluations and certifications and on-the-job assessments.

Stay updated on latest technologies, processes, and best practices in edible oil processing to incorporate into training curricula.
About you
Bachelor's degree in food science / technology, Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in edible oil refining / processing operations with technical expertise in oil chemistry, refining principles, industrial processes, and equipment specific to the edible oils industry.
Ability to lead self, other individuals and teams without authority using expertise and influence.
Knowledgeable about learning management systems (LMS), instructional design, and e-learning platforms; Knowledge of traditional and modern training methods and techniques
Proven ability to develop and deliver effective technical training programs for manufacturing employees.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly facilitation skills to convey complex technical concepts clearly in English, with other languages being a plus given the company's global reach and footprint.
Good interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally with teams.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities, and see projects through to completion.
Excellent time management skills, problem-solving and data analysis skills
Ability to operate media equipment such as projectors and personal computers as well as utilize and operate within Microsoft Office programs - including Teams.
Exceptional organization skills, leadership, and attention to detail.
