What We Do
We sell and service heat exchangers for manufacturing companies. Shop technicians are responsible for day-to-day shop execution including all safety, quality, and compliance requirements. The shop tech works directly with the shop manager to ensure all customer commitments are met.
About This Position
Our small, family company is looking to fill the position of shop technician. Shop technicians must be energetic, always looking for places to help, professional, detail-oriented, and driven to succeed. This position has two rates of pay : one while in the shop (most of the time), and a higher rate while on field service, approximately 25% of working hours. Shop employees must be able to lift 50 lbs and remain on their feet most of the day.
Shop duties include but are not limited to :
- Counting incoming plates and writing up their job details
- Cleaning plates using a pressure washer and other methods
- Closely inspecting plates and equipment for pinholes and other irregularities
- Organizing jobs on the shop floor and keeping shop clean and efficient
- Using forklift to move pallets and boxes
- Reassembling machines to assure they work properly
- Placing gaskets on plates and arranging in proper order for shipment
Field Service may include overnight travel. Lodging, transportation, and meals are paid for by the company. Trips are usually short, but some may extend several days. Very rarely on weekends (maybe 3 times a year), but employees are additionally compensated for weekend work.
Field Service duties include but are not limited to :
We try to make sure everyone has a healthy work / life balance, so work weeks for full time employees remain around 40 hours. If your 40 hours are reached before the end of the week due to long field service, you are sent home to enjoy a long weekend. Regular work days are 8am-4 : 30pm, Monday – Friday.
Part time employees work at pre-determined times between 8am and 4 : 30pm, Monday through Friday. While part time employees enjoy a flexible schedule, they are not eligible for paid time off or company paid benefits.

We ask that each employee arrive to work on time, help each other, be honest with everyone, be friendly with customers, look for ways to help, and suggest improvements whenever they are needed. Having a happy, helpful staff is very important to us, and we are looking to hire employees who feel the same. All shop employees who have been with the company for 90 days are eligible for bonuses! Bonuses are based on plates cleaning goals and are paid according to hours worked per quarter.
