Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately process and review vendor invoices, ensuring timely payments and compliance with federal financial regulations.
- Maintain relationships with vendors, respond to payment inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and manage vendor account information in accordance with federal guidelines.
- Conduct regular audits and financial analyses to verify the accuracy of accounts payable records, prepare monthly reports on AP activities, and track payment statuses for management review.
- Oversee and process payments related to the Government Purchase Card program, ensuring compliance with program policies and prompt payment processing.
- Perform regular reconciliation of accounts payable balances and general ledger accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies to maintain accurate financial records.
- Ensure all accounts payable activities adhere to the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Prompt Payment Act, and financial policies. Remain updated on changes in federal financial regulations and implement policy updates as needed.
- Maintain organized records of all accounts payable transactions, supporting documentation, and communications with vendors for audit purposes.
- Identify opportunities for improving AP processes, recommend best practices, and assist in implementing automation tools to increase efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable, financial analysis, or accounting, with federal government experience preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office applications, with experience in data analysis, reporting, and reconciliation.
- Experience with financial systems and government purchase card programs
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet tight deadline
- Proficient in financial management software and tools, including Excel, financial systems, and other relevant technologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with teams and stakeholders at various levels.
