Commercial Analyst

Job Description Summary

We are searching for a Commercial Analyst to contribute to our Finance group within our Metal Forming organization. This role will be based out of our World Headquarters in Detroit. We are a team of motivated financial professionals working with cross functional areas, involved in activities like quoting new business, costing engineering changes, valuing make/buy scenarios and cost reduction opportunities. The position is responsible for analysis of the inputs for new business cases and tracking of the completion of tasks in the system, along with creation of financial analysis.

Job Description

• Leading participants on the business case analysis to focus on the right inputs, along with completion of the task in system.
• Prepare financial analysis for new businesses, engineering changes, profitability analysis and future-state cost, with discounted cash flow.
• Assist in providing AAM manufacturing locations with data related to awarded business cases for Budget/Forecast and actual performance vs. plan.
• Assist in holding the team members to follow policies and procedures as it relates to cost, investment, and supplier quotes.
• Support sourcing decision by creating financial analysis for total landed cost vs in-house manufacturing.
• Assist with periodic Sarbanes-Oxley testing requirements.
  
  

Required Skills And Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or a closely related field or 4 years of equivalent experience
• 2-3 years of professional experience in Accounting, preferably in costing areas.
• 1 years of Experience working in the Automotive industry
• 1 year of experience in Financial Analysis and Reporting
  
  

Preferred Requirements

• Self-motivated, resourceful, meticulous, and detailed
• Ability to work optimally with non-finance associates
• Proficient with Excel
