Job Description Summary

Leads the design, testing, installation, and maintenance of large-scale electronic equipment or machinery for use in manufacturing. Applications are broad and varied, requiring inclusion of technical and business context, and solving of non-routine problems.

Job Description

• Maintain, repair, install, replace, or rebuild a diverse range of industrial manufacturing equipment and systems.
• Program, edit, troubleshoot, and wire logical controllers, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and components on production machines and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot, test, repair, and calibrate various types of electrical, electronic, and induction heating equipment.
• Maintenance and repair of electrical systems for both facility and production equipment, including wiring in accordance with code.
• Being able to safely operate the articulated boom and scissor lift, ascend stairs, and work on elevated mezzanines.
• Evaluates control systems, products, components, and applications.
• Evaluates new manufacturing and control technologies, adapting into specifications as appropriate.
• Confirms control system functionality, including appropriate safety compliance, by designing and/or executing test procedures.
• Prepares and/or reviews electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls drawings; collaborates with related engineering teams to evaluate components, materials, and suppliers.
• Ensures integrity of process and build data collection.
• Provides information to manufacturing, process, and other engineering disciplines by answering questions and requests.
• Keeps equipment operating by performing periodic audits; troubleshooting breakdowns; requesting supplies; defining and reviewing preventive maintenance plans; calling for repairs; and implementing process improvements.
• Maintains project documents using approved methodology, tools, and templates.
• Manages supplier development and delivery.
• All other duties as assigned.
  
  

Required Skills And Education

• Associate degree in electrical technology or a related field
• 6 - 8 years of experience as an industrial electrician or controls engineer
• experience working in a union manufacturing environment
