Responsibilities
Prepares and reviews federal, state, and / or local tax filings such as Forms 990, 1120, and 5500, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable guidelines and regulations. Prepares tax filings for foreign investments. Responsible for tax research, analysis, and interpretation to ensure compliance and appropriate tax planning. Analyze the impact of potential changes to tax law / code on the organization, making recommendations to senior leadership on how to address these changes by assisting senior management in the development of programmatic and financial controls and policies to address these risks. Responsible for tax-specific transaction recording and records maintenance. Manages independent, internal, and regulatory audits, representing AARP before taxing authorities. Manages the relationship and work of external tax consultants, ensuring a strong working relationship and accuracy of work product. Exercises judgment in the appropriate communication of tax-related issues to key internal clients and stakeholders. Qualifications Bachelor's in Accounting with 5 years of progressive tax experience. Board range of tax knowledge to include but not limited to corporate income tax, exempt organizations, SALT, and foreign investment reporting. CPA AARP will not sponsor an employment visa for this position at this time.
