We are seeking a skilled and experienced Locums Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician to provide 24-hour on-call coverage at a hospital in Anderson, South Carolina. This opportunity is ideal for a board-certified thoracic surgeon with expertise in general cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, as well as a variety of preferred procedures. The position involves providing high-quality surgical care to patients, conducting evaluations, and managing acute conditions. The physician will be responsible for performing general cardiovascular and thoracic surgery procedures, including coronary artery bypass surgery (on pump), congenital defect repair (preferred), and valvular repair and replacement (preferred). Additional preferred procedures include aneurysm repairs for cardiac and aorto-thoracic cases, as well as lung resections. The physician will also perform chest wall or pleural procedures, manage the evaluation and treatment of acute volume/blood pressure issues, and execute necessary procedures such as central line insertion, arterial line placement, pulmonary artery catheterization (PA catheter), and intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) insertion.
The cardiothoracic surgeon will provide comprehensive care to patients, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and manage postoperative care effectively. The physician will also be expected to respond to acute medical emergencies and provide expert care in a hospital environment.
