A Brush Above Services, or ABA Services, started as a premier commercial/residential paint and drywall company that, over the course of 10 years, has expanded its influence and scope of work to include all aspects of the construction process. Our job sites typically span across the State of Texas and include a variety of different firms and businesses in nearly every industry imaginable.
ABA Services is currently looking to fill one (1) open position –Assistant Superintendent.
The primary responsibilities of the Assitant Superintendent are to properly supervise and document all on-site logistics, including material delivery, equipment, personnel, safety, and the project schedule. The Superintendent is responsible for working with the project manager to schedule employees and subcontractors, ensure correct materials are onsite, resolve day-to-day problems on the job site, and inspect all project work to ensure compliance with plans and job specifications.
Superintendents work mainly on site, using their organizational skills to collaborate with contractors, inspectors, and others involved with the project. Safety is a primary concern, and the Superintendent is responsible for ensuring workers are adequately equipped and following proper safety procedures.
General Responsibilities:
- Maintain daily communication with your supervisor via telephone, text, and/or email.
- Adhere to all assigned deadlines and timetables.
- Ensure that all safety procedures and requirements are applied and followed at all times.
- Report all safety hazards and/or concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Project Superintendent Specific Responsibilities:
- Manage customer/client contacts on awarded projects.
- Establish and maintain a relationship with the project Owner and act as the office liaison.
- Supervise internal labor and subcontracted work.
- Have a thorough knowledge of the plans and specifications for each project assigned.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager to create, monitor, and adhere to project schedules.
- Schedule the labor crews/employees for awarded projects.
- Order materials for current projects.
- Check job sites for job progress and solve any day-to-day issues.
- Assist in approving the time entries for employees and subcontractors.
- Perform quality control inspections on daily construction activities
- Submit daily logs inclusive of manpower, work performed, delays and photos for internal and external visibility
- Submit and track delays caused by Owner or other trades
- Initiate Requests for Information (RFIs) and submit them to Project Manager in a timely manner so as to not cause delay
- Review approved submittals and ensure delivered material matches the approved submittals.
- Ensure all work performed by internal manpower and subcontractors meets the design intent (drawings and specifications), manufacturer’s requirements (submittals), and industry standards.
- Track all material deliveries and report discrepancies
- Inventory material on-hand and coordinate with Project Manager when running low, so as to not cause delay
Position Requirements:
- A valid Driver’s License and personal liability insurance for travel between jobsites and the office/shop area.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail with ability to follow directions and work under minimal supervision.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member, including attending and participating in team meetings.
- Demonstrate reliable attitude, honesty, and integrity.
- Initiative and willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges.
- Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and work well under pressure to meet established deadlines.
- Ability to effectively communicate with supervisors, subordinates, and Owner’s representatives
Qualifications:
- Some practical job-site experience is preferred
- In lieu of job-site experience, a degree in a construction related field would be considered
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite – Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams
- Some experience with is preferred.
- OSHA safety training is preferred, but not required

Pay: $62,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
