AVP, Accounting

Our client is an investment banking firm. They seek an AVP, Accounting to join their Manhattan, NY office.

Responsibilities

• Support daily accounting functions, including month-end close and financial reporting
• Work with stakeholders to understand, enhance, and optimize critical financial systems
• Ensure the integrity of the financial process and the accuracy of financial statements
• Help prepare financial reports, including financial schedules, reporting packages, etc.
• Develop and maintain a documented system of internal controls to ensure accuracy
• Coordinate the activities of external auditors and manage annual financial audits
• Verify that transactions are processed accurately and that business growth is supported
• Identify and implement automated solutions to streamline processes and enhance efficiency

Requirements

• 4 years of accounting experience
• Investment industry background
• Public or private accounting experience
• Organized, analytical, and detail-oriented
• Excellent communication skills
• Skilled in Excel and technically savvy
