Our client is an investment banking firm. They seek an AVP, Accounting to join their Manhattan, NY office.
Responsibilities
- Support daily accounting functions, including month-end close and financial reporting
- Work with stakeholders to understand, enhance, and optimize critical financial systems
- Ensure the integrity of the financial process and the accuracy of financial statements
- Help prepare financial reports, including financial schedules, reporting packages, etc.
- Develop and maintain a documented system of internal controls to ensure accuracy
- Coordinate the activities of external auditors and manage annual financial audits
- Verify that transactions are processed accurately and that business growth is supported
- Identify and implement automated solutions to streamline processes and enhance efficiency
Requirements
- 4 years of accounting experience
- Investment industry background
- Public or private accounting experience
- Organized, analytical, and detail-oriented
- Excellent communication skills
- Skilled in Excel and technically savvy
