Anticipated Schedule (days / hours) :
19 Hours a week
Mon-Fri 8 : 00am-5 : 00pm with some nights and weekends.
5 : 00 pm with ability and willingness to work varying hours including some evenings (Monday 7 : 00 pm)

Purpose of Role / Temporary : The Counseling and Student Development (CASD) Division supports both Student Success Academic Courses and Student Success operations including Academic Advising, Counseling, Career Exploration, Student Success Workshops and First-Year Experience activities.
These CASD functions require administrative support in administrative duties, operational duties and technical support. The CASD administrative support employees must possess high level administrative skills including, but not limited to, time management, organizational, priority setting while adhering to strict confidentiality standards. Employees in a CASD administrative support role must possess a high level of computer competency skills to support functions of the division during peak enrollment periods.
Job Duties / Key Responsibilities :
1) Answer phones, voicemail, email, departmental email accounts and ticket systems in a professional manner and direct calls to appropriate persons or take detailed messages as needed.
2) Perform administrative duties for scheduling student appointments for academic advising, personal counseling, or career counseling
3) Follow departmental guidelines and protocols to ensure students have completed all onboarding steps and have been assigned and academic advisor.
Become proficient in student self-service platforms (i.e. My Backpack, My Compass, Canvas, etc) and be able to provide instructions via in-person, virtual or phone to students in order to reach their academic advisor or counselor through the self-service tools.
Position Requirements :
Minimum Requirements :
1. Associate Degree or four years of related administrative experience.
2. Two years of prior related office experience; such experience to include independent decision-making, problem solving, coordination of responsibilities, and the ability to function effectively in a complex high pressure, high volume environment.
3. Basic level proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint with expectation to gain proficiency in campus-wide required computer system applications as they are implemented.
4. Demonstrated time management and priority setting skills. Ability to manage large amounts of information and files, with an attention to detail. Responsible for working and managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
5. Ability to apply critical thinking skills and exercise appropriate judgment.
6. Functions as a motivated self-starter that takes initiative.
7. Excellent verbal and written communications skills including grammatical skills and demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively in both the spoken and written word.
8. Ability to work as part of a cross-trained team, and to deal with students, faculty, staff and public with knowledge, tact and courtesy.
Preferred Requirements :
1. Prior work experience in a college environment
2. Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
