This position reports to

District Sales Manager

Your role and responsibilities

The Area Sales Manager, Channel, is engaged in customer facing implementation strategy to achieve sales growth across our ABB portfolio across the geography. He / she / they also ensures individual business sales targets are met or exceeded and that net margin maximizes profits within the geography. The individual participates in planning and ensures that strategies are aligned with the district and regional objectives, in conjunction with talent management and recruitment. Continual coaching of team members to win and build trusting relationships across their customer base. Furthermore, this individual will provide consistent positive leadership for the Channel team. Continual leadership with strategy and programs meeting local coverage targets across ABB's BUs and working to exceed Channel Partners and customer needs. Extra focus will be on our residential growth strategy across the District. Focus to grow ongoing new product launches and help lead the team to implement product growth strategies and customer adoption. This is a remote position, with successful candidates located in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill or Charlotte metro areas. Relocation assistance may be provided. This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Buildings division in the United States. You will be mainly accountable for :

  • Providing consistent positive leadership for the Channel team. Anticipating and identifying the shortfalls in performance and taking appropriate remedial actions, proactively.
  • Identifying and evaluating new opportunities with existing and potential customers, determines plans for implementation, and allocates required resources.
  • Planning and executing customer surveys and acts on the survey results to ensure high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Participating in the negotiation of key contracts.

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM, Business, or similar strongly preferred.
  • 8 years related sales experience required, including experience selling through channel and distribution partners.
  • Sales experience of a $25M business.
  • Senior Account Management experience.
  • Understanding and experience with full portfolio of electrification products.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
