Your role and responsibilities
As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through various projects. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB's operations and enhancing personal education / employment opportunities. The work model for the role is : onsite This role is contributing to the Electrification Business. You will be mainly accountable for :
- Study and search for existing computer and server hardware for processing large amounts of data for AI models and other data
- Research and Evaluation : Study existing computer and server hardware configurations optimized for processing large datasets, with particular emphasis on HBM-based GPUs.
- Hardware Modification and Enhancement : Develop methods to convert second-hand HBM-based GPUs into systems compatible with other high-speed interfaces (such as PCIe interfaces), ensuring high-bandwidth data communication and integrity between components.
- Provide novel approaches to expand the computing capabilities of our research infrastructure, focusing on cost-effective solutions that leverage both new and repurposed hardware.
