This position reports to
Production Manager
Your role and responsibilities
• Set up, operate, and monitor the process/machine effectiveness to meet productivity and quality requirements. • Set up and change out raw materials, dies, and form tools to make parts. • Read, understand, and follow work instructions and blueprints. • Use proper measuring tools to ensure correct die setup (correct Die, Shot Well, Shot Rod, and Tip). • Operate and run both die-cast and trim die machines. • Work well with new and inexperienced operators to ensure everyone's safety. • Inspect parts for quality. • Adjust various die-cast machines to produce quality parts. • Unstick parts as needed. • Safely and efficiently change dies. • Operate a hoist. • Perform routine maintenance (lubrication, pin replacement, tooling changes). • Operate a forklift. • Provide daily updates on required paperwork. • Perform daily housekeeping duties. • Work overtime as needed. • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications for the role
- Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 6 months of industrial experience or military service; or, in lieu of industrial experience, will consider vocational/technical high school courses, technical college courses, or 3 months of previous motor manufacturing experience.
- Motor manufacturing experience is preferred.
- Candidates must have work authorization to work in the United States.
- Specialized Skills or Other Requirements:
- Die set-up experience is preferred.
- Must be mechanically inclined and proficient in mathematics.
- Ability to read gauges, micrometers, and blueprints.
- Steady work history.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Adaptable to change and ability to cross-train.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work any shift.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
- Physical Demands:
- Stand for long periods, lift, reach, twist, and bend. Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs. every 10 minutes.
- Able to perform tasks in a manufacturing environment while standing on a concrete floor.
- Must follow workplace safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
