Sales Support Manager - Technical Sales

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to plan and implement proactive promotional activities for the assigned target audience to create market demand and need for specific features or products. Each day, you will identify and develop sales opportunities by introducing, presenting, and educating the target audience about ABB products and tools. You will also showcase your expertise by building long-term customer relationships. The work model for the role is remote in the San Diego, Orange County CA district. You will be mainly accountable for :

• Collaborate with consultant, end user, utility and EPC / DBC engineers to define electrical project needs, supply design assistance, product selection, value engineering, budgeting & provide education on ABB solutions to gain acceptance of the same into project specifications.
• Review and assess project specifications and end-user customer requirements to deliver electrical solutions including one-line electrical diagrams, schematic diagrams, lay-out & equipment drawings, equipment specifications and project budget pricing for Low and medium voltage applications.
• Develop accurate estimates of the electrical project budget plan for designers, and incorporating best practices.
• Provide local support in the following products and applications : MV / LV switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, transformers, motor control, power monitoring, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), automatic transfer switches (ATS), paralleling switchgear (PSG), generator circuit breakers and more.
• Have a working knowledge of short circuit, coordination and arc flash mitigation concepts and the ability to illustrate their benefit via tools such as SKM or Easy Power.
• Create and edit presentations for Lunch & Learns and regularly use SFDC.
• Educate customer and confidently present complex technical concepts to engineers, contractors and users.
• Share customer feedback on new product opportunities, product gaps, and market trends with commercial and product management leadership. Act as a Product Champion in your area.
• Be willing to travel ~25% of the time and visit customers in local area regularly.
