Job Summary :
The Nursing Home Scheduler ensures that nursing staff, including Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and other healthcare professionals, are scheduled efficiently to meet the needs of patients. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage staff availability while adhering to policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities :
Staff Scheduling :
Create, manage, and update daily, weekly, and monthly schedules for nursing home staff to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts (days, nights, weekends, and holidays).
- Ensure that staffing levels comply with the nursing home’s requirements, budget, and regulatory standards.
- Work with department heads and supervisors to address scheduling conflicts or staffing shortages.
Communication :
Serve as the main point of contact for staff to report absences, changes in availability, or other scheduling issues.
Time Management :
Monitor and track employee attendance and punctuality.
Compliance & Documentation :
Ensure that staffing schedules meet state and federal regulations related to staffing ratios, labor laws, and licensing requirements.
Qualifications : Education :
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience :
Prior experience in scheduling, preferably in a healthcare setting (e.g., nursing homes, hospitals).
Skills :
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
