Provide Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) guidance to ensure performance and compliance throughout AbbVie’s manufacturing sites. AbbVie has dynamic, high risk activities throughout their internal AbbVie manufacturing sites. Position will provide direct site support and contact for Internal Manufacturing plants in the US, PR, Costa Rica, and Brazil:

Develop programs and systems to prevent catastrophic safety and environmental events from occurring in plant manufacturing operations & TPMs around the world. Position has the responsibility to lead EHS professionals located in US, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, and Brazil regions and globally as needed.
Responsibilities:
· Drive Zero! Believe it! I Will! Culture and Think 5, Take 5 initiatives at the manufacturing sites
· Manage regional support request from network and ensure high level of completion by staff
· Provide guidance and resources for New Product Introductions (NPI’s) and Process Tech Transfers (TT) into and out of sites
· Support and prepare sites for Global EHS / PCI Audits
· Partner with Global IME EHS staff and sites to ensure implementation of global EHS initiatives and tools
· Potential for high level negotiations with external EHS regulatory agencies internationally.
· Provide guidance for carbon footprint reductions throughout manufacturing. Also responsible for managing and reducing environmental emissions and waste.
· Responsible for keeping current on emerging technologies and regulatory issues that have the potential to impact the business.
· Engage key manufacturing stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance, and consistent, effective EHS program implementation throughout global manufacturing.
· Develop regulatory strategies to minimize liability, support business growth, and enhance operational flexibility.
· Contribute to the development of a global EHS vision and Long-Range Plan strategy for global manufacturing.
· Collaborate with the AbbVie corporate EHS organization.
· Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, environmental, occupational safety, or Industrial hygiene is required, Master’s degree preferred.
· 8 years of EHS experience with a minimum of 3 years supervisory /managerial experience is required.
· Be recognized as a leader in EHS with strong technical skills and strong interpersonal skills
· Technical expertise in EHS, and plant level experience.
· International experience. Understand regional and global business drivers and regulations. Ability to travel globally as needed.
· Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Position requires the ability to demonstrate influencing those who they do not have direct authority over.
· Strong team leadership experience involving cross-functional participants.
· Must have a positive track record of establishing and maintaining effective relationships with both internal and external clients and customers
· Demonstrated ability to successfully negotiate with senior management, peers, customers, regulators and governmental officials.
