Teacher Job Description
We are looking for a Child Care Teachers to encourage the healthy intellectual and psychological growth of the children in our facilities. You will teach and supervise them while also motivating them to use their mental capacities and exercise their imagination.
Responsibilities
The Lead Teacher is responsible to take leadership and mentoring role in relation to assistant teachers and group teamwork in the classroom. A Lead teacher must:
- Design and follow a full schedule of activities and discover suitable teaching material
- Balance your teaching between logical and social exercises
- Provide basic care and caregiving activities
- Use a wide range of teaching methods (stories, media, indoor or outdoor games, drawing etc) to enhance the child’s abilities
- Remain in constant communication with parents and update them on the progress of their children
- Observe children’s interactions and promote good behavior choices
- Identify behavioral problems and determine the right course of action
- Collaborate with other colleagues
- Adhere with teaching standards and safety regulations as established by the official sources
- Develop and implement lesson plans
- Assist in the development of rules and State regulations
- Encourage children to develop their judgement and decision-making skills by offering choices throughout the day.
- Observe Children for illness and communicable diseases
- Maintain a clean, orderly and safe environment for the children and other staff
- Greet and communicate daily with parents on their child’s needs
- Assist in bathroom routines and diapering
- Attend Field Trips
- Sanitize toys daily and weekly, sweep/mop daily
Requirements
- Proven experience as a childcare / daycare teacher
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Excellent knowledge of child development and up-to-date education methods
- Patience, flexibility and love for children
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Certificate in first aid and CPR
- SIDS and Shaken Baby Syndrome Training
- EC1 (Introduction to the Child care Profession), EC 2 (Skills and Strategies of the Child care Teacher), Infant/Toddler (Fundamentals of Infant/Toddler Care) or Degree in early childhood education
- Experience working in a child care licensed center
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Must be team player
