Job Title: Childcare Teacher

$14 - $22

Flexible schedules between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. M-F

Established in 2018, Rising Sun Child Care was started by Ashley Arnoldussen. Ashley has her associate degree in Early Childhood Education as well as her Administrative Credential. In November of 2018, Ashley’s husband Nick left his long-time paramedic career at Gold Cross to further support the success of Rising Sun. Rising Sun has quickly become one of the leading child care programs within the Fox Cities, winning top 3 in the 2021 and 2022 “Best of the Valley” competition, and winning 1st place in 2023. Qualifications:

Education Requirements: (Minimum Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education Preferred)

Lead Teacher -

  • Have completed high school or its equivalent, as determined by the Wisconsin department of public instruction
  • Have at least 240 hours of experience as an assistant child care teacher in a group child care center, as a licensed family child care provider, or in another approved early childhood setting
  • Have completed or obtained one of the items listed in column 2 on the last page of the following link (Prior to assuming the position): https://dcf.wisconsin.gov/files/publications/pdf/66.pdf

Assistant Teacher -

  • An assistant child care teacher shall work under the supervision of a child care teacher with a group of children and shall be qualified in one of the following ways:
  • Be at least 18 years old and have satisfactorily completed 2 credits in early childhood education or its equivalent within 6 months after assuming the position.
  • Be at least 18 years old and have satisfactorily completed one, non-credit department approved course in early childhood education within 6 months after assuming the position
  • Be at least 17 years of age and have satisfactorily completed an assistant child care teacher training program approved by the Wisconsin department of public instruction, 2 credits in early childhood education or its equivalent, or a non credit department-approved course in early childhood education

Job Description -

  • Plan, implement, and supervise all daily activities
  • Support the success of students through positive relationships, developmentally appropriate environments, and research based best practices
  • Commitment to implement, promote, and support an effective curriculum aligned with WMELS (Child assessments, goals, portfolios, lesson plans, newsletters, etc.)
  • Commitment to facilitate learning as an intentional, flexible, and present teacher
  • Commitment to attend all mandatory staff meetings (One Sunday evening per month 5-7pm)
  • Commitment to continue education annually (Minimum 15 hours)
  • Commitment to support the best possible outcome for each child’s learning and development

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $22.00 per hour
