Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our accounting operations by performing various tasks related to financial record-keeping and reporting. This position requires a strong understanding of financial concepts and the ability to work with accounting software. The Accounting Assistant will assist in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the accounting department.
Responsibilities:
. Handle incoming and outgoing mail
. Make calls to insurance and utility companies and get quotes from insurance companies and manage the renewal of different insurance policies
. Troubleshoot utility bills: ex) high water bill- investigate for leaks, unauthorized
uses of water and call utility company
. Manage emails, letters, packages, phone calls, and other forms of correspondence.
. Organize and data entry for accounting duties and payrolls using Quickbooks
. Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
. Perform bank reconciliation to ensure accuracy of accounts.
. Conduct account reconciliation, including bank reconciliations and vendor accounts.
. Support budgeting processes by gathering data and preparing budget reports.
. Maintain accurate records of journal entries, debits, credits, and other financial transactions.
. Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or issues that need resolution.
· Perform other tasks as requested by the owner (ex: loan process)
Qualifications:
. Previous experience in an accounting role is preferred but not mandatory.
. Familiarity with data entry bookkeeping principles is essential.
. Strong analytical and data entry skills with attention to detail for accurate reporting.
· Experience in accounting software, (e.g. QuickBooks)
· Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
. Professional demeanor and excellent customer service skills
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
. Computer Proficiency: Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, Email, Office Equipment (printers, copiers, scanners)
· Ability to work independently with multi-tasks and coordinate with different people
· Good work ethic and attention to details
- Problem-solving skills- identifying issues, resolving, ask for help or escalate to the appropriate person
- Prior office administrative experience preferred but not required
. Fluency in English speaking & writing

What we offer:
. Currently available 40 hrs. sick time per year, No PTO, No Health Insurance
. Working hours: Monday - Friday 9 AM – 5 PM, Closed on Bank Holidays
. Pay may depend on skills and/or qualifications

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
