Position: Assistant Construction Superintendent
Job Overview: The Assistant Construction Superintendent supports the Superintendent in managing and overseeing daily construction operations on job sites. This role ensures that construction projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications and safety standards. The Assistant Construction Superintendent will collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, workers, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in Site Supervision:
Support the Superintendent in overseeing the construction site, ensuring all work is carried out efficiently and safely.
- Manage Site Safety:
Monitor adherence to safety regulations and policies. Conduct regular safety inspections and report issues as necessary.
- Coordinate Daily Activities:
Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the site, including scheduling and supervising subcontractors, laborers, and material deliveries.
- Quality Control:
Ensure work meets quality standards and project specifications. Perform inspections and ensure compliance with drawings and plans.
- Documentation:
Maintain accurate daily logs of work performed, labor used, material deliveries, and any incidents or issues that arise on site.
- Communication:
Act as a liaison between the project manager, subcontractors, and the on-site team. Ensure clear communication of project updates, changes, or issues.
- Material and Equipment Management:
Assist in tracking and managing materials and equipment required for the project, ensuring timely delivery and usage.
- Subcontractor Management:
Assist in coordinating subcontractor work, ensuring tasks are completed on time, and managing any conflicts or delays.
- Scheduling:
Support the creation and adjustment of project schedules, ensuring timelines are met and delays are minimized.
- Problem-Solving:
Help address and resolve any on-site challenges or issues promptly to keep the project on track.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in construction management or related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in construction, especially in a supervisory or assistant role.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, safety regulations, and building codes.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and navigating uneven terrain on construction sites.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
