We are a CRC licensed recreational producer based in New Jersey that specializes in cultivating premium cannabis strains. We are seeking a motivated, personable and committed Marketing Manager. Due to the nature of this role, we have a strong preference for the MM to live in the Northern area of either New Jersey of Philadelphia.
Role Description:
The Marketing Manager manages the marketing outflow and works with the sales team to provide an oversight of key marketing functions and create tools and programming enabling the achievement of annual sales objectives. This position acts as a liaison between the sales and marketing teams and is a key position within the company. Responsibilities include developing effective tools for the sales team as well as developing strategic recommendations to improve the performance of our products in the market.
Additional responsibilities in the development of brand plans, scheduling, managing and running vendor days while keeping the vendor day calendar up to date. The Marketing Manager will manage this process directly with the retailers. With a focus product positioning, consumer/trade promotions, product launches, Budtender education training, pricing, budget development and management, business reviews and analytics, and ad hoc projects.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of brand plans, brand/product positioning, new product launches and promotions targeting both on- and off-premises channels.
- Due to nature of this role, we have a strong preference for the Marketing Manager to live within the Northern part of either New Jersey or Philadelphia.
- Take a lead role in the management of outside agencies and vendors
- Manage the company’s marketing budget, with an eye on ROI and effectiveness.
- Communicate frequently with our sales team to ensure effective development of tools, promotion analysis and adherence to budget and brand standards.
- Analyze brand performance quarterly to ensure business objectives are being met and proactive corrective actions are being taken as needed.
- Develop comprehensive calendar of marketing activities, promotions, events, product launches and product focus periods.
- Work closely with the National Director of Sales to provide best-in-class. marketing support and sake/product education tools for the trade and consumers.
- Work in the market to champion company brands and gain understanding of trade and consumer needs as appropriate. Represent brands at industry and special events and participate in wholesaler meetings as needed, some travel expected.
- Act as company/brand/sake ambassador at consumer and trade events and distributor meetings.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related discipline is desired.
- Minimum of 3 years marketing experience, ideally in the alcohol/cannabis industry.
- Must have knowledge of cannabis or strong desire to acquire cannabis knowledge and appreciation.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills with the ability to create compelling, easy to understand, visually appealing presentations. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (Acrobat, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) a plus.
- Solid experience and comfort giving presentations in front of groups of 15 or more.
- Able and willing to work frequent late afternoon and some weekend vendor days.
- Strong communication skills; articulate effectively both verbally and in written form.
- Exceptional creativity, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Must manage time and prioritize tasks – highly motivated with the ability to work independently with strong project management skills.
- Understanding of Nielsen/IRI data – the ability to compile reports and interpret data.
- Knowledge of SEO/SEM, comfort managing social media channels and digital advertising campaigns.
- Must be able to foster a highly productive, motivated, and fun environment in the office.
- Attend frequent meetings and events in our Paulsboro New Jersey facility and around the New Jersey metropolitan area.
